Whoa guys. The last few months have seriously flown by in the Barton house. School plus the holidays and birthdays had me pulling my hair out – I feel like I’m just sitting down to catch my breath.
Deep breath in, deep breath out…and GO!
Ash and I have a goal to be more intentional with our posts this year. We want to add more value to our site, share more of what is going on in our lives and really just take the time to write some killer content for you all. Thanks for being patient while we’ve both been adjusting to new/crazy things in our lives- my family’s big move to the East coast and everything that comes along with relocating across the country. And Ashley W’s new baby…and then another her other new baby. LOL! It is never a dull moment around here. I love that no matter how chaotic things get, Ash and I came come here, write our hearts out and get some wonderful words of encouragement from you. We are two very lucky girls!
One update that I’ve been meaning to share is our yearly yellow/orange (aka- watch me grow) shirt photos. My son turned 4 in November and my daughter turned 7 right after Christmas, it feels weird typing those numbers- they seem so BIG!
Jack has changed so much this year. He hasn’t stopped growing and is still the tallest 4 year old I’ve ever seen (he is in big kid size 6 clothes!). He thought putting the “big orange shirt” on this year was hilarious and would NOT stop swinging his arms. Someday taking his picture will be easy but until then I’ll continue to bribe him with massive amounts of candy.
I’m just noticing how dark his hair is getting! He is so silly- I love that all his pictures really highlight that. Oh his sweet little dimples.
Layla is at the age where she’s starting to understand and appreciate her yellow shirt tradition. She likes looking back at my pregnancy pictures and seeing how she’s changed over the years. Something hit me like a ton of bricks while editing her pictures this year- for the first time ever her hair is actually shorter. I’ve enjoyed seeing her hair get longer and longer, almost like a measurement of her growth. But she got a big cut in the fall (she aaaalmost had enough to donate) and it makes her look so much older in this year’s pictures.
Attitude with a capital A!
I love how different my pregnancy pictures are- again, something I didn’t notice until I put this together. I felt so good with her until the very end- with Jack I was miserable from day 1.
Another orange and yellow year in the books. Now to work on their photo books (I usually have them at least started by now ugh).
