You guys know my favorite holiday is Halloween. And my favorite thing in the WORLD is coordinating sibling outfits for Layla and Jack. Last year’s costumes kind of broke my heart but I knew that they wouldn’t let me dress them up together forever.
Well well WELL my friends…this year was a different story. We watched all 7 Star Wars movies over the summer and the kids are totally into it. I’m talking full blown Star Wars mania in our house and I’m loving every single minute of it. This year I told the kids they could be Star Wars characters and, while I steered them a bit in this direction, please allow me to introduce Princes Leia and Han Solo!
Seriously guys, this is a dream come true. I only have one more set of costumes on my Halloween bucket list (I pray every night they’ll let me get ONE more in) but if this is the last one I can get in, I can deal.
Layla, excuse me, Leia really rocks the brunette wig. This girl is a strong and powerful princess that doesn’t need saving. Just look at her “go ahead, make my day” face-
I cheated this year and bought her costume off Amazon. I normally try to use things the kids will wear again but the wig sold me and it was cheaper to just buy the whole costume.
And *sigh* my sweet little Han Solo. There really are no words. The one hour of hand stitching his red stripes onto his pants was SO worth it.
The store brand Han Solo costumes are cute but I already had several pieces in his closet that we could use for this so I just went with it. His pants and white shirt are from last season’s H&M clearance, his shoes and vest are from Carters. I was tempted to get the actual blaster gun to complete his look but then we came across these foam ball shooters at Costco and just picked them up.
I asked him to show me his handsome face here. Haha! He kills me.
I’m so glad they are as into their costumes as I am. The only thing they are missing is the Millennium Falcon!
May the force be with your little ones this Halloween!! xoxo
