I am 10 weeks postpartum. I gained a whooping 45 pounds during pregnancy and have only lost 25. I lost that first 20 within the first month of of having Peyton. So the last month I have only lost 5. I have started working out, watching what I ate, but nothing is changing. I know, I know….I need to give myself grace. It is baby #4. I know what to do, it will come off. But it is summer. I am hot and not comfortable in my own body.
Cue in 3am feedings and infomercials and enter in the 21 Day Fix. It intrigued me. (Along with the Total Body Gym that I can slide under my couch!) A girlfriend of mine is a Beachbody Coach so I called her up and had her hook me up!!
I was so excited to get my package in the mail. Although I was slightly disturbed to see the size of the containers were actually much smaller in person than they appeared on TV.
I read through the book, made my grocery list and hit the store. I stocked up on fruits, veggies, healthy carbs and proteins. (My diet up till now included ‘don’t eat till daddy gets home then devour everything in site’.) This was going to be hard. Meal planning is NOT my thing and certainly not when you have to actually prepare food!
I made it successfully through day 1. It wasn’t too bad! And the workout was intense but doable…even though I had to modify a lot.
Day 2 seemed a bit harder because I was on the run and didn’t have my meals pre made. It meant I was scrambling to throw things together but I survived and learned I needed to prep my meals if I was going to be busy one day.
….Okay…So I wrote this a few weeks ago. I quit after day 7. UGH. The meal prep was HARD But I kept up with the workouts and tried my best with the healthy eating. I did loose a few pounds and felt like I had more energy!
Going to try again!! Wish me luck!!
