Missed my previous Disney posts? That’s OK I’ll put them here:
Day 4 at Disney and all I can say is WHEW! We were EXHAUSTED by this point and I am so glad we took a day off in the middle of our vacation to do nothing.
It turns out our “off” day was still pretty darn magical and one of my favorite days. I got to see one of my long lost cousins and finally meet her sweet kiddos. I’m so thankful she took the day to come see us and for the time our kids were able to spend playing together.
We met at our hotel (Port Orleans Riverside) and took a Disney bus to Disney Springs (aka- Downtown Disney which is what I will forever call it).
Just LOOK at the smiles on these precious little faces:
Natalie and I were pregnant with these two at the same time. Little Miss Brady was born about a month before Jack and we’ve been dying to get them together. Thank God for FaceBook because now Jack is obsessed with “Bray-deeeeeeeeee” and her brother and loves to see new pictures their Mommy posts. It was really love at first site for these two- like they’ve always been little BFFs.
All the kids had fun riding the bus to Disney Springs. Can you tell which child is an Orlando native? It was “cold” and rainy that day…but blizzarding back home in PA so you better believe my kids busted out the shorts!
We spent a bit just walking around and seeing the free sites of Disney Springs. We decided to grab lunch at the Rain Forest Cafe and let me just say…OOPS. I had no idea that the rain forest came to “life” complete with thunder, lightening, misters and screaming apes. My sensory sensitive kids were a tad bit overwhelmed. Layla actually did fine but Jack was a mess. And that made his pal Brady nervous. I think the youngest in the group, Brooks, was the biggest fan of the cafe and happily shoveled food in his mouth while watching the big kids squirm. I like that kid!
Unfortunately the rainy day wasn’t the best for strolling around outside but we were able to get a couple of sweet pictures before heading back to our hotel.
I mean, seriously. That picture just makes my heart melt. I can probably do without going back to Disney for a few years but I absolutely can not WAIT to get that gang together again.
And here is a hilarious picture of all of us. You can tell which parents are trying to recover from 3 solid Disney days, which kids are sick of having their pictures taken but my favorite part is the Rain Forest Cafe in the background spewing “smoke and lava” while the 3 kids that didn’t appreciate the theatrics eat their ring pops.
We gave our last hugs and said our
goodbyes “see you laters” after getting back to the hotel. Layla and Jack were ready for some rest so we went to our room to lay down. Three of us took loooong naps. Layla watched the Disney channel and played on the iPad for about 3 hours.
After our snooze we walked over to the lobby area and ate dinner at the quick service counter. We cruised around the gift shop a bit and took our time getting back to our room before relaxing another our or so before bed.
We needed as much rest as possible because we had a very important breakfast to make in the morning. No one wants to keep Mickey waiting!
