After sharing his orange shirt pictures, I realized I never really shared pictures from his actual birthday!
Although we’ve made the decision not to buy gifts for birthdays this year, Jack had the BEST day doing exactly what he loves- play with trains. A Day Out with Thomas was at the local railroad on his actual birthday and it couldn’t have been more perfect.
We arrived about an hour before we needed to board Thomas. Most of the time was spent in the gift shop because #1- it was cold/windy and #2- Grandma was with us an the kids had to get something. ;o) After we left the gift shop we got to do a mini Thomas ride in the big tent:
I think Jack might actually like Percy the most so we made sure to get a quick picture in front of him before moving on. This was an unpaid photo op and our photographer *ahm* Grandma forgot to get the train in the pictures. Bahaha! It’s still a good family pic, except for the fact that the kids aren’t looking…
I think it is safe to say that riding Thomas was Jack’s favorite part of the day. This boy LOVES trains. He sat nicely for about 2 seconds and then wanted to stick his head out the window for the remainder of the ride.
And, because we didn’t want a fight, we just let him do it.
Jack had such a good time meeting Thomas. He loved waving to him on the platform until he realized Thomas was leaving again…
Then he was TICKED. This picture is SO Jack. He doesn’t throw as many tantrums as he did as a toddler, but boyfriend will let you know when he doesn’t like something. He shoots laser beams out of eyes and lets his sweet cheeks droop to his knees.
He cheered up long enough to do the cranky cars. These were a BIG hit!
A morning spent with Thomas made us all hungry so we headed over to the kids’ favorite- Olive Garden. Jack ordered pizza but really just ate 30 bread sticks and 12 pieces of chocolate.
After nap time and a pizza dinner, it was time to make a wish and eat cake.
I can’t get over how old he looks in that last picture. Such a little man! It seems like yesterday we were waiting for “November” and his arrival.
Jack is the wildest, sweetest, silliest, strongest and BIGGEST little guy. I was scared to meet him and become Mommy to two, and now I can’t imagine life without him. He is strong willed, does NOTHING “by the book”, loves the word “no” and is a little heart breaker. He has the BEST dimple in the whole wide world and when he says “I love you” he means it with his whole heart. He can burp louder than anyone I know and his hugs will melt you right into his arms. He is the best boy, the biggest joy and he makes our family complete.
We love you baby Jack! You will always be our little Butterball. xoxo
