I honestly had no intention of starting this tradition. Three years ago I grabbed my kids and said “let’s play photo shoot”. I was having a terrible day, wanted to get back into photography after having my son and needed to do something that I felt was productive. This was the result-
My daughter had just turned 3 and my son was 4 months old. She thought tacking hearts to the walls and wearing lipstick was pretty cool, and he could have cared less about anything but my boobs at the time.
Two years ago we put on the same red lipstick and puckered up for this set of shots-
Those pictures will forever and always be one of my favorite things.
Since I’ve done Valentine’s Day pictures for 2 years in a row…it is now a must. These are the only set of photos I have of them together at the same time of year for the last few years. I don’t even get great Christmas pictures! But there is something about putting bright red lipstick on your little girl and having her kiss her brother’s cheek that screams “I love life”.
I didn’t get many individual shots of just my little guy. He’s a hard man to photograph, constantly on the move! Sis was tickling his neck here and he sat still just long enough for me to snap it!
I did get some gorgeous ones of my girl. I decided to incorporate these into her Valentine’s handouts for school this year.
Valentine’s Day 2015 pictures are a wrap! I wonder if they’ll let me do this when they are 16 and 18……..
