I think we promised to post these pictures about 2 months ago. OOPS!! We’ve been crazy busy and totally forgot!
Ash and I don’t get to to see each other often enough. Life with small kids and being 5.5 hours away from each other is so tough. When we do get our families together we like to make the most of it. And by “make the most of it” I mean Ashley and I try to sneak away while the guys take the kids. We have blog stuff to talk about and catch up on! And martinis to drink! Sometimes we have to do this in the clubhouse so no one finds us.
Don’t judge. You know you’d do it too if you could sneak away. We have so much fun writing this blog and bouncing ideas off each other. We really love hearing from followers or people just popping in to read some of our popular posts from Pinterest. But we realize that we talk A LOT about the kids and not very much about ourselves. So I thought I’d let you in on some fun Ashely facts.
We are both SUPER goofy. We make fun of ourselves and each other…a lot. Sometimes we make fun of our kids and spouses too. Thank God most of this stuff doesn’t make it to the blog.
We are alike in a lot of ways but have lots of differences too. Our daily struggles lately have included whether or not to get the newest straightening process done on our hair and/or justifying the expense of a Beach Wave curing iron. This is real life guys. We also text daily about the consistency of our youngest baby’s bowel movement and videos of the second youngest’s temper tantrums. Our older kids get talked about too…mainly when they have horrendous attitudes or are sick.
We started this blog as a fun way to stay busy during nap time. We only had a couple kids at that point…now we can have enough to put together a real life hockey team (seriously!…5 players!). During the early months we were up to date on everything blog related, could put our feet up and relax a bit during nap time even.
I look back at how far we’ve come in just a few years. It’s so fun to do this blog and to do it with my sister in law is the biggest blessing. I’m not sure how I could survive Mommyhood without Ash W…and she probably wonders if I’d survive too (I seriously send her at least 3 texts a day with “WHAT DO I DO?!?!?! questions).
Three years after starting this blog we now we struggle to find time to unload our dishwashers and pick up our oldest kids from school. Life is complete chaos at the moment for both Ashleys! But we would not have it any other way.
We are so grateful for every single follower, Pinner, reader and anyone that has even glanced at our blog. We are grateful that it keeps us busy and productive. It provides both of us a sense that we can raise our kids AND do something for US. And for others. I can’t tell you how many times we’ve read emails from readers with questions or just the sweetest comments ever. We’ve had tears in our eyes SO many times- thank you for sharing your good, bad and ugly. We will continue to share ours with you!
I will end this post with a pic of the “big kids” that inspired us to start this blog. God love them and their “sweet” little brothers that would NOT cooperate for the photo shoot. Someday we will get a picture of them all together, smiling and sweet. Until then we will just cherish our “chaos in the kitchen” picture. 🙂
