My poor daughter is missing school in the worst way. She has slept with her book bag EVERY night since her last day of school (she uses it as her pillow) and all she can talk about is “when I go back to school I’m going to ______”. Fill in the blank with words like “do crafts”, “read”, “finally play with my friends again”. It’s enough to break my heart. On nice days we can just go out and play but on rainy days we get soooooo bored.
I’ve stocked up on lots of craft supplies for those rainy days. I’m hoping that by doing some fun/new crafts my daughter will stop being so depressed over her lack of school. I know I will pay for this passion for learning later when she’s 13 and doesn’t want to go BACK to school after summer break.
ANYWAY….Here are a few summer crafts that I’ve “pinned” for inspiration this summer:

Juice box boats would be great in the bathtub! Check these out at Pinching Your Pennies
Egg carton bugs are the only kind of insect I want to see in my house this year. I can’t find the original source to these but it looks like all that’s required is a cut up egg carton, some paint and then face stickers or googly eyes.
