We’ve gone through LOTS of sippy cups to find out which ones our kids prefer. Here’s a break down of our kids’ fav cups according to age:

Nuk Learner – $5.99 on Amazon |
Nuk and Nubby larger cups: Our kids got used to both sippy cups listed above. Each brand carries
the same spouts with a no handles option. These are MUCH easier to fit
in a diaper bag/cup holder so I transitioned to these as quickly as
possible:

Tall Nuby Sippy Cups – $3.99 on Amazon
Nuby No Spill Flip It Cup– My daughter loved this one because she didn’t have to tip the cup up. The straw on this cup is actually soft and large enough that I could see introducing it to even a 6-7 month old! They are fatter than other sippy cups so they are a bit difficult to fit in a diaper bag.

Take and Toss Sippy- These are great because they are cheap and you don’t feel bad about pitching (they are recyclable!) them because they are so cheap. You can buy the standard blue, red, green and yellow cups at most stores but they also sell a ton of Disney themes (Cars, Princess, Mickey Mouse…) on Amazon.

Take & Toss Set of 3 1 $7 on Amazon |
– Playtex Coolster- My daughter thought she was suuuuper cool when she started using her “coffee mug”. Really…it looks just like a coffee mug. It is insulated and great for keeping drinks cold on the go. It is also spill proof and starts the beginning stages of drinking out of a glass (no spout).

Are we missing any of your kids’ favorite sippy cups?
After having taken several grad courses in feeding & swallowing (for speech pathology), I obsessed over the sippy cup options probably *way* more than I needed to. But what I chose for my LO, from 6 mos onwards, was a nosey cup with handles. Having no spout, it promotes a more mature lip/jaw pattern, which, in theory at least, reduces the risk of certain later speech errors. There are a few caveats to it, so read up on it before handing it over to a baby! Just another option to think about.
