Your child’s doctor will typically give the “OK” for cow’s milk around baby’s first birthday. The transition for some kids is harder than for others so we’ve put a list of tips and tricks together to help you get your little one used to “new” milk!
– Make sure you are aware of signs your child might be allergic to milk. Things to look out for include more immediate reactions like a rash, wheezing, vomiting, fever, swelling…call your doctor right away if you child experiences these! Other signs that your child may be allergic to milk include gas/bloating, diarrhea, general fussiness after starting milk. These symptoms can be somewhat progressive but can point to a milk allergy or intolerance as well. Some kids will out grow a milk allergy and your pediatrician might suggest trying again later, either way make sure to put in a call to your child’s doc!
