It is like our kids are out to get us…
Here are some funny things that we have done (or our friends have done) with lack of sleep:
–Where are my glasses?? (They were on my head the whole time….)
–Left the house with mascara on only one eye. oops
–Put your diaper bag on the top of your car and drove off. oopsie~daisy
–Totally forgot an appointment.
–Planned a play date at your house but forgot…so everyone came over and YOU were not there.
–Made homemade mac and cheese for friends but forgot a key ingredient…the kids did not even like it.
–Planned a trip to drive 3 hours to visit a friend but had the wrong weekend and did not realize it until 5 minutes before you are supposed to leave.
–Bought a “big brother shirt”…so you thought. Really it said “little brother”. AND you didn’t realize it said that until he wore it for several hours.
Ways to Help Yourself Get More Sleep:
–Just say NO to added stress. A friend asks you to do a favor and it is too much, say NO. Explain that you have too much on your plate. She will understand. (PS-I really struggle with this.)
–Just say YES to help. Outsource. If baby will take a bottle, have your partner give baby a bottle at night so you can get a full nights sleep. Say yes to a friend or grandparent coming over to play with baby so you can take a nap.
–Talk to your husband about being overtired. Work out a schedule where you can sleep in one morning over the weekend and he can sleep in the next morning.
–Sleep when baby sleeps. (need I say more??)
