Let’s face it, when baby gets here your house, pets, relationships and basically everything but baby gets put on the back burner. If you are a first time Mom, you MUST take advantage of the things on this list while you can! If you have a new baby at home…plus other children, just laugh at this list and try to stay sane.
#1. SLEEP!! For crying out loud just take a NAP! When your baby first falls asleep you might get a sudden burst of energy to do something else but you will regret this poor decision the second baby starts to fuss awake.
(If you have already participated in #1…feel free to move on to other things in our list.)
#2. Clean. I’m not talking shampoo the carpets…just do some general dusting and maybe a load of laundry. Something that doesn’t take much time, but will make you feel better when it’s done.
#3. Catch up in your baby book. The longer you wait to enter items into the book…the more you’ll forget. I was obsessed about getting my daughter’s baby book done to the point where I even guessed her weight and length BEFORE she was born…so I might be a little crazy about this. LOL
#4. Upload photos. Make sure you are updating your family and friends on FaceBook, Twitter, Blogger…whatever it is you use. Who doesn’t love to see new pictures of a cute little one in their news feed?
#5. Catch up with friends and relatives. Make a quick phone call to your BFF and update them on baby. Friends with new babies can seem MIA to the outside world…even if you feel like you’ve been on top of things!
#6. Take a shower. Yes, it has been 3 days and you smell. Plus, taking a nice hot shower is so relaxing and provides you with some much needed time alone.
#7. Do something for YOU. Paint your nails, read a book or watch a movie…something that doesn’t involve baby. It may not feel like it at the time but you’ll appreciate taking your mind off of Motherly duties for just a few minutes.
